ISO 11612 Protective Clothing Heat and Flame Resistance Test - Standard Name
ISO 11612 Protective clothing— Clothing to protect against heat and flame
ISO 11612 Protective clothing— Clothing to protect against heat and flame
The heat and flame resistance tests in ISO 11612 mainly include the following:
1.Flame Spread Test (Test A)
Test Purpose: Evaluate the spread performance of protective clothing fabric under flame exposure.
Test Procedure: Expose the fabric sample to a gas flame for a specified duration, measuring parameters such as after-flame time, afterglow time, and damaged length.
2.Convective Heat Test (Test B)
Test Purpose: Assess the resistance of protective clothing fabric to heat transfer caused by convective heat sources.
Test Procedure: Subject the clothing to a controlled heat source, measure the temperature rise on the inner surface of the fabric, and determine the duration the sample can maintain before the temperature increases by 24°C.
3.Radiant Heat Test (Test C)
Test Purpose: Evaluate the ability of protective clothing fabric to provide protection against radiant heat.
Test Procedure: Expose the clothing material to controlled radiant heat, measure the level of heat transfer through the fabric, i.e., record the duration the sample can maintain before the temperature on the unexposed side increases by 24°C.
4.Contact Heat Test (Test F)
Test Purpose: Assess the ability of protective clothing fabric to provide protection against contact heat.
Test Procedure: Place the fabric on a heated plate or cylinder and record the time required for a specific temperature increase on the inner surface of the fabric.
